If you were following my tweets in late May/early June, you may have read that I was at Phill Turner’s “Ministry of Traffic” event 10 days ago, listening to a brilliant line-up of speakers teaching us how they get more visitors to their websites… and we all know, provided you have a good call to action (or “conversion environment”) …
more visitors = more business !
What was striking was that 5 out of the 6 speakers use Facebook extensively to drive visitors (traffic) to their websites – and by making use of the updated features in Facebook pages (also called business pages) you can add a free (or pretty cheap) marketing tool to your arsenal without loads of technical knowledge.
I know how to set up a page… but I definitely don’t know all the handy tips and “ins & outs” that can make my page work really hard, so I bought WP Pro Business’s new e-book “Facebook Fan Pages for Business and Profit“, which contains chapters on setting up pages (with or without your own personal Facebook profile – something I didn’t know could be done!), how to create the photo strip on your Facebook page, and very usefully, how to integrate your Aweber autoresponder optin form to turn your business page into a squeeze page.
An added bonus are their tips about how, once you have become familiar with all aspects of Facebook pages, you can sell your services creating business pages for OTHER businesses! I know a few people who have set up business as Social Media Managers and are doing very well – so this is a really useful (and thoughtful) addition to the book.
I would liked to have seen more examples/screenshots in the e-book, as I am definitely a visual learner – but the information is excellent, and they include links to a host of free and low-cost resources which is worth the price of this ebook, in my opinion.

I’m trying out more & more new technology – Facebook AND QR codes in one post??? Wow!!!

Fan pages are great if your fans actually see the posts. Have you already talked about the change in default setting to see posts of pages and friends you interact with most? I changed my settings and noticed a big difference in the friends/pages that I see. Trying to get the word out. Thanks!

Hi Greg,
Thanks for the comment; I had sort-of heard about that – I see you’ve written a post about it; could I include it as a follow-up “guest post” to this review?
thanks!
Tracey
Tracey – Please do. Thanks for asking, and let me know if I can help you in the future.
Thanks Greg – really appreciate the offer, and the permission – look forward to reading more from you
Thanks Tracey, for more good information. I am very proud to say that I have already done the things that you suggest, I have found it very useful to place very targetted adverts on FB too and now that I have a good number of fans established I don’t need to advertise as new people are joining all the time. It is a very powerful tool to use and again with unique relevant content it adds value for people interested in your specialist area. Thanks Tracey. XX
Hi Julie, you’re fantastic the way you throw yourself into learning new technology – very well done! And it’s brilliant to hear that your page has started becoming viral – growing itself as it were – something for us all to aspire to

Hi Tracey, Have just this week decided to get a business page going on Facebook so this is PERFECT TIMING for me. It will be a great resource as I venture into this new world. Like anything, it’s obvious once you know how …
Thank you! A x
Hi Amanda, isn’t the universe amazing how it places the things we need in our paths
The e-book is really straightforward so just follow it step-by-step & you should be fine – do comment back here & let us know how you get on, won’t you?! [And send us a link to the FB page]

Hi Tracey,
Thank you for posting your review and also for the constructive criticism regarding more detailed visuals. We’ll be sure to revise our guide to include more…and maybe even a bonus tutorial video soon;)
You’re welcome Adam – it’s a really useful guide, and presenting your info in different learning modalities will only add to it!
I was really pleased to learn that you don’t have to have a personal profile to have a page – that will definitely help some of my clients!
Look forward to more guides!
Thanks Tracey:)
As an aside, you might want to consider using the Subscribe to Comments plugin. I only saw your response because I revisited your page to link to it from an article I’m writing.
Done – thanks!!
